Results of First Clinical and Operating Room Use of Seracam Presented at SNMMI - Imaging Technology News

Posters featuring clinical trials using Seracam, a portable hybrid gamma-optical camera for medical imaging, are being presented at the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Annual Meeting in New Orleans. Researchers from The Ohio State University and the University of Malaya shared findings from their studies that demonstrate Seracam's potential in various clinical applications, such as lung imaging and breast cancer management. The Ohio State University poster emphasized Seracam's capability for small field of view imaging compared to standard gamma camera systems, while the University of Malaya's poster highlighted its use in lymphoscintigraphy for breast cancer, showing comparable detection rates of positive nodes. Both institutions received recognition for their contributions to the project, with the results indicating a promising future for Seracam as a point-of-care solution in hybrid imaging. Seracam is currently for investigational use only and has not received regulatory approval.
